Have your say on big plans to transform public spaces in Leeds

Residents, workers and those that enjoy visiting the city centre of Leeds are being encouraged to have their say on plans for major transformations and redevelopment of public space in Leeds over the next decade.

Leeds City Council has issued its first ever draft ‘Leeds Our Spaces’ strategy which focuses on the city centre and identifies a number of key projects such as City Square and The Headrow and outlines the big changes and also challenges that the city faces over the next eight to ten years in regards to public realm.

Hundreds of people have already commented on the proposals, and the council are keen to hear from more people before the conversation closes in February 2019.

Based on seven key principles, and with the ambition for a strong economy and compassionate city, the strategy will be a route map to ensure that the delivery of any new public spaces meet the city’s vision for the creation of world class, inclusive and vibrant spaces that become the city’s greatest cultural asset.

The conversation offers the option to comment specifically on the seven principles, or to spend a couple of minutes filling in a quick survey for what needs to be improved in the city centre.

The city wide conversation will be open until mid-February 2019, please join the conversation on social media via #LeedsOurSpaces and spread the word by using the social media buttons below.
